From 29th to 31st May 2022, UNIDO ITPO Italy was invited to take part in a mission to Oman, with the goal to explore new opportunities for investment promotion, technology transfer and collaboration with the Middle Eastern country.
During the mission, UNIDO ITPO Italy Head Ms. Diana Battaggia and Investment Promotion Expert Mr. Andrea Carapellese attended 6 high-level meetings with several representatives of relevant public and private institutions from the Governorate of Muscat operating in the field of investment, trade and industry.
Among the stakeholders met: Mr. Hilal al Hasani, CEO of Madayn, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates; the CEO of the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dr. Al Fadhal Abbas Al Hinai; Mr. Slalah Hilal Al Hasani, CEO of the SME Development Fund; Eng. Sami Al Sahib and Mr. Rashid Al Rashdi, respectively Director General of Industries and Director General of Investment and Export Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; and His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Al Dheeb from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.
UNIDO ITPO Italy’s mission to Oman — which was also made possible thanks to the valuable on-site support provided by Bergs & More and its omaniti partner Advanced Business Consultants — successfully allowed to develop joint synergies and foster cooperation, paving the way for future activities to accelerate Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development, in line with the mandate of UNIDO and the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
